Partner Joshua Auxier Lauds the Norwalk Chamber Leadership Institute for Its Networking Opportunities and Community Service

FLB Law partner Joshua Auxier recently graduated from the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Institute (NLI), a professional development program focused on the local community. A relatively new resident of Norwalk, Josh enrolled in the NLI to get better acquainted with his new hometown and to network with professionals based in the Norwalk area. This class of NLI participants includes 16 leaders from nonprofits such as Norwalk Community Health Center and Norwalk Housing Authority, and for-profit companies including People’s Bank, King Industries and Samsung.

“I registered for the leadership Institute on the recommendation of Eric Bernheim, FLB managing partner, who is an alumnus of the program, and Stephen Fogerty, also a managing partner and alumnus of a similar program in Hartford,” shared Josh.

Through a series of informative and interactive sessions, and a community project, NLI provides insight into the Norwalk community and its key issues, while also affording the opportunity to learn and work with others in an intimate and collegial environment.

“I have learned a tremendous amount about the city of Norwalk and what it offers in the way of government services, commerce, housing, health and social services and more,” Josh said. “In addition, I’ve started to build meaningful relationships with other professionals, and have enjoyed working on the community project Career Skills Day for underserved individuals searching for jobs.”

This year’s NLI volunteer project is a Career Skills Day planned specifically for underserved individuals who have fewer opportunities and need assistance to effectively secure a job. The event will be held on April 30, 2022, at the Norwalk Community College and includes workshops on how to dress for job interviews, draft resumes, use LinkedIn and hone interview skills.
