Westport Journal Reports on P&Z Approval to House Buses on School Property

Represented by FLB Law Managing Partner Eric Bernheim, head of the firm’s Land Use & Zoning Practice, the Westport Board of Education received approval from the Westport Planning & Zoning Commission on an extension that allows the school district to park its fleet of buses on school property after hours.

A recent story in the Westport Journal highlighted the plight of the school district, which had nowhere to park its buses after it switched providers to save money but lost access to the parking lot owned by the former busing vendor.

Under the P&Z agreement, the school district can continue to park the buses in three of the school’s parking lots, with specific conditions that address noise reduction, parking adjustments for events, and other considerations.
